Palliative & Hospice
We provide care and treatment twice a month to the elderly from their home surroundings. The elderly under the program are in areas of Nakisunga Mukono District, Kalerwe – Kampala District, Bududa and Mazuba -Namutumba District.
What do we do in this program?
- We visit elderly patients twice a month in their homes, where we take vitals, assess their medical condition, provide pain relief and essential medicines, offer counselling, spiritual encouragement, and emotional support. We also guide families on how to care for their loved ones and monitor health changes.
Why do we offer home-based palliative care ?
- Because many elderly people cannot travel due to sickness, disability, or lack of transport. Bringing care directly to their homes ensures they receive timely and dignified support.
Why is this care important?
- It reduces pain and suffering, helps manage chronic illnesses, supports mental and emotional wellbeing, and restores dignity in old age.
